“I feel like I owe myself an opportunity to bring my sound to the whole world, not just New London or even CT.”
Having already been featured via Complex, The Source, 2DopeBoyz, MissInfo.com, Respect Magazine and more, Connecticut emcee Franc Grams has already crafted an impressive rap sheet of media coverage, placing him in the small percent of newer artists that have learned to leverage local press into national opportunities.
Not one to shy away from the past, Grams has spoken openly about the hardship he experienced while growing up in the low income area of New London, CT; yet for him it’s about giving back to the same community that raised him. Realizing how important music was to his childhood, Grams has become a regular donor to artistic endeavors, successfully launched the “Give a Child a Mic” foundation, taught a writing class called “Writers Block” to a youth outreach group and landed on Connecticut’s “40 Under 40 List.”
In addition to performances at Austin’s annual SXSW festival, the Low Key and Rich Dollaz hosted “Franc Grams: Red Carpet Extravaganza” at Foxwoods casino and an opening slot for Joe Budden, after an impressive buzz launched by his well-received “1995”single, Grams released his debut release Let’s Start Over in February 2014 and has already completed his sophomore project, The Premonition.
