Saturday Kanye West unveiled his Ready To Wear Collection for women at Paris Fashion Week. The show was hosted at a Southern Paris high school with celebrity onlookers including Ciara, designers Joseph Altuzarra, Alexander Wang and Olivier Theyskens, and celebrity designers the Olsen twins. Although The Guardian recently reported that 100 hand picked designers from around the world, as well as recent Central Saint Martins graduates helped Kanye with most of the leg work creating the line, the details have not been confirmed.
Being that Kanye has such flamboyant style with a love for luxury labels, I expected his debut line to represent his outlandish taste but that wasn’t the case; Kanye’s lines is very relatable to women and wearable, of course with few alters.

AP reported that many of Kanye’s favorite designers were represented in the line from Balmain to Givenchy but that the”luxed-up street wear elements, like hooded jackets made in a mosaic of crocodile skins” gave the collection its own voice.
After the showing, a nervous Kanye was quoted saying:
I’m so scared, I’m so nervous. The biggest conversation I hope I can end tonight is whole ‘celebrity designer’ thing, that’s the biggest hurdle when you want to get amazing people to work for you.
Kanye West is the first male musician to present a women’s high end collection at Paris Fashion Week. Congrats!

Ciara on Kanye’s debut:
He did a great job. I walked away from this show feeling like I would love to wear this line. There is so much in it that’s right up my alley. Especially since for me, it’s so cool to see someone come from our music world and do something like this. It’s really hard.
